As I had indicated in an earlier blog, the long-term effects of having COVID-19 are still unknown. However, since the publishing of that blog, there appears to be even more information about what they are now coining "long COVID" or the "COVID Long-Haulers."
These individuals with 'long COVID' are those still suffering from the effects of COVID-19 4-6 months after initial diagnosis of the condition. Many of these individuals are not even those who had extreme symptoms when they first were diagnosed with COVID-19. In fact, some of these individuals had mild or no symptoms at all when initially diagnosed.
Some studies have indicated that 10% of individuals who had mild COVID-19 symptoms will go on to be diagnosed with 'long COVID'. But some other studies indicated that the percentage of those who will suffer from 'long COVID' may be as high as 35%. These individuals are sometimes referred to as 'COVID-19 long-haulers.'
In order to assist the public and employees who may have been exposed to COVID-19 at work, we have provided a list of articles and videos below. We hope you find it helpful in determining what actions you should take with respect to this highly infectious viral disease. We will regularly update this list as more information becomes available.
